Changing is a concept that soon enters our vocabulary, meaning to change, to make a difference, to exchange, replace, transform, and to give another direction. Although essential, it leads to discomfort and resistance, and it is not always seen with good eyes, depending on the environment and the way in which it occurs.
Let’s talk about change, how it affects us, and strategies that help us to do the process in a way that minimises its impact. Here’s the table of contents for this article:
The last few years have clearly been years of profound changes, transformation, and adaptation, the result of a global event that affected all humanity. If we analyze better, the biggest transformations occurred in the global market and the organizational world, which had enormous challenges. In fact, companies have always felt the need to keep changing and adapting, meeting the needs of consumers and beyond, but never like today, where they feel the pressure of technological innovation and the globalization of markets daily.
1. Types of change
Stellaxius, as an IT company, is no exception, mainly as it bets on technology that excels in innovation and is always attentive, trying to anticipate needs, whether that of the market, customers, employees, etc. Its consequent growth is also a reason for the change, thus readapting a structure capable of meeting the needs of current and future employees, simultaneously aligned with the demands of the sector in which it operates with a change management strategy.
We usually implement change processes in two ways:
Gradual – Made as the name implies in a gradual, linear way and continues over time.
Radical – The second is deep, fast and is usually done forcedly. Both are valid and applicable at different times or circumstances of the organisation.
Regardless of the format, the vital thing to guarantee an efficient transition is to plan this change and communicate it clearly and transparently so that those involved understand what is happening in their organisation.
2. Strategies for change management
Several strategies help us manage and plan a change management process within an organisation.
- Firstly, it is important that there is a clear objective, that is, its purpose.
- Second, identify and involve participants in the process.
- Third, use communication as a tool by explaining what, where, when, and how the processes will happen. This communication must be clear, objective, and constant throughout the journey of change.
- Fourth, could you set a plan with well-defined and realistic goals
- Fifth, distribute the tasks and roles that each one will assume in this process and be clear about their expectations.
- Sixth, follow up, guide, and receive feedback so you can adjust and help whenever necessary.
- Seventh, take stock of the ups and downs of the process so we can learn important lessons for the future.
3. My journey at Stellaxius
My journey at Stellaxius started just when we met the pandemic. There were more doubts than certainties about what the future held for all of us, but one thing was sure, Stellaxius was growing, and I would be an active part of that process.
Even with an underdeveloped structure, where we were all “handymen” and where everything was still to be done, without a doubt, the conditions for change, growth and transformation were met.
Today, the journey has been a massive challenge on a professional and personal level, and transformation has been the watchword. Adaptability, flexibility, and resilience have been the watchwords on this path, which has been intense but very rewarding.
At Stellaxius, we nurture a culture of change for everyone. Our people are used to stay out of their comfort zone – it’s the best way to do great things – and if you want to discuss it more about change management, I would love to be contacted by you!
