Last weekend, our Stellaxians have returned from San Francisco’s Dreamforce 2019! They arrived with their heads still spinning around new concepts and ideas, hearts full of passion, hands loaded with gifts, and mouths with plenty of stories to tell! In this post, they will reveal some of the deepest secrets of this year’s Dreamforce.
Yet, before you get started with your readings, let me tell you what this Dreamforce was all about! This year’s big word was together, as we are all growing the Salesforce ecosystem together, establishing deeper links among Salesforce, its partners, and its customers. And, since we’ve just mentioned customers, of course, they were the main focus of this event! During those four days at Dreamforce, the most heard expression in San Francisco certainly was “Customer 360”! We’ll see all about it in a second! Just sit back and enjoy it!
Customer 360 Truth
This Dreamforce, Salesforce announced a major innovation: Customer 360 Truth. The purpose of this new product is to connect data across orgs, clouds, and third-party systems in only one hub. Thus, information is pulled from sales, service, marketing, and commerce clouds as well as third-party tools and platforms, and linked to give us a 360º view of each customer. Thus, this hub represents a “single source of truth” for all business areas.
This way, each customer is given a universal Salesforce ID where we may find previous interactions and registered preferences. At the end of the day, Customer 360 Truth provides a holistic view of the clients’ profile, enabling companies to deliver an integrated experience to its customers across all different interactions, providing better customer service and support, as well as a more engaged and personalized marketing journey across multiple channels.
Salesforce and Apple Partnership
Apple and Salesforce partnership is growing stronger! This Dreamforce, the launch of two apps was announced: a redesigned Salesforce mobile app and a new Trailhead GO learning app, for iOS and iPadOS. So, for the Trailblazers out there, just start exploring new trails, as Trailhead GO is now available for free in the iOS App Store!
Besides, the two companies also announced the new Salesforce Mobile iOS Software Development Kit that allows developers to easily build and deploy native apps for iPhone and iPad.
Another great novelty about Apple and Salesforce partnership is that Siri can now interact with Salesforce CRM to give you insights on your scheduled meetings, revealing you who you are meeting with, when you last met, and even what is the associated Einstein opportunity score.
Salesforce and MuleSoft Partnership
Mulesoft was another hot topic of this year’s Dreamforce. MuleSoft allows the integration of diverse datasets without the need for programming. So, to prove the platform’s potential, Louis Vuitton made a demo showing how it integrates inventory data with information on customers’ purchases. As demonstrated, this dataset integration allows Louis Vuitton to better communicate with their target customers and to provide them more accurate suggestions and recommendations. This demo was rather valuable to truly understand how MuleSoft integration with Salesforce improves the ultimate customer experience. Besides, it was quite fun as it involved Louis Vuitton’s fluorescent bags right in front of us!
Chat with Obama
Not every day do we get the chance to be in the same room as Barack Obama. Fortunately, Dreamforce 2019 gave us that once in a lifetime chance! It surely was great to hear his thoughts on Leadership, Global climate, and the importance of having strong values within organizations. This very rich hour at Dreamforce went by like if it was only 10 minutes and surely gave us a lot to think about!
Here are some take-ways from Obama’s speech we couldn’t help but share with you:
- Don’t look for talent and leaders in the obvious places. Not all leaders need to come from Ivy League schools. There are leaders everywhere waiting for the opportunity to show themselves;
- Prioritize your actions. To be quite fair, you will find some are already prioritized for you. As the former USA President made clear, global climate has to be on our top priorities, as we are at the point of no return;
- Surround you and your organization with people cleverer than you. With different religious believes, with both man and woman at the board, with race diversity, etc. If you don’t, you are creating blind spots on your organizations and you will miss the opportunity to be more successful. Equality is not charity! Its a fundamental part for your business to be successful.
- “Be polite and be useful” – This is the piece of advice Obama always gives his daughters. If you are both polite and useful, people will surely want to work with you!

The Keynote on Einstein
AI is more than a buzzword nowadays, the number of companies using it to power up their business has been increasing from year to year. Actually, in 2017 only 20% of companies reported using AI in their strategies, but this number has increased to 47% in 2019, which means almost half of the companies worldwide use some sort of AI to power their business. So, if you are not yet using AI, some of your competitors probably are!
Einstein has been evolving to transform the way AI is used, it is designed for simplicity to help Salesforce Admins, marketers and salespeople to be more efficient and effective. Einstein is no longer just a silent helper in the background, it is a voice assistant now present across all Salesforce Products!
Some of the newest functionalities include Einstein Voice for Service, Einstein Call Coaching for Sales, Einstein Search, Einstein Vision, and Einstein Language.
Next week we will launch a new article only on Einstein to help you understand how Salesforce is developing its Einstein product to make AI accessible across marketing, sales, and service to more and more companies. Keep posted!
The world of Salesforce Mobile
The Salesforce Mobile app will be available for all users in February 2020. Yet, at this year’s Dreamforce we received great insights on the Salesforce Mobile world! Here are some of the mobile features revealed at Dreamforce which we enjoyed:
- Einstein Analytics: Another great news on the Salesforce mobile world is that analytics is now available on mobile. By acceding the analytics Tab on the mobile, you will now see the same dashboard as in desktop.
- Lightning Apps: You now have all the apps available on mobile. For that, the Admin can configure the app visibility based on the users’ profiles, provisioning certain apps for specific users.
- Einstein Voice Assistant (Beta Spring 20): This functionality goes hand in hand with the above-presented developments. So, now with Einstein Voice Assistant, the mobile user can update records on the go.
- Einstein Search: This functionality couples with the above-mentioned developments. So, now with Einstein search, you can personalize results, making a search in the mobile app more relevant than ever (Beta Winter 20).
- Conversational Search: This tool allows the user to make natural language queries (Pilot Summer 20)
- Sharing button: With the new sharing button on the top of the page, we can now share a record with any other apps on your phone. The user will receive a link (that looks like a link you would copy from your browser), which he or she then opens on his or her computer or phone, leading to the right record.
This will allow users to receive notifications for important records and fields. Besides, users can select which records and fields they want to receive notifications for!
