Are you still not using the Salesforce Sales Cloud mobile app? On which planet are you living? Do not waste any more time, and ignite yourself on this new trendy technology!

What is this Sales Cloud mobile app?

Well, I think the name says it all! We are all familiar with mobile apps, so do not get me started on explaining that. Now, a Sales Cloud mobile app? Well, that is a different story.

We all know Salesforce to be a powerful Sales tool. I guess that is why it has “Sales” on its name, but who knows how words are formed? Anyways, it is a very strong tool that is being used more and more nowadays, in all different types of situations and industries.

However, until quite recently, all of this engagement was done via computers and browsers, which was not very user-friendly to people that are usually on the road meeting clients. Besides, we all know that the important businesses are done at a table in a restaurant, after some bottles of wine!

With this new tool on a mobile device, we are combining the traditional way of conducting business, with this new improved and user-friendly way of doing it.

Imagine having all your accounts, contacts, opportunities in the palm of your hand. You may think that you would really need a gigantic hand to handle all that information, but now you can have it all with this new app.

This app mimics almost to perfection the way of conducting business on a regular Desktop. From creating a contact, to win an Opportunity, and not excluding custom-made Visualforce pages, the user can still have it all.

For instance, the users can have the app homepage adapted to their needs, having on it specific global actions they use constantly on the travels, as well as tasks that they need to take care of, or even their most recent contacts, like the client on that restaurant!

Why do we need it and how does it help the sales reps?

Okay, this one is almost a rhetorical question, for sure! What is there on this app that a common sales rep would not absolutely and desperately need?

I will tell what I really loved the first time I used this app: the ability to directly dictate what I wanted to be written on any record! Let’s again imagine ourselves as being a sales rep. Such a hard life before this app, right? Well, say no more! We are now in a meeting with the client, absorbing all the useful information directly on the platform, transforming it on the fly in contacts, opportunities, accounts, you name it!

What about after the meeting, when the information is still fresh on our minds? Time to dictate to our beloved app, spelling detailed notes on it, so that nothing is forgotten.

Many useful actions are present on this app that are not actually functional on a desktop. Do you want to be the cool kid on the block and be the first to use them? Well, retain this information!

Contacts are probably one of the most important objects on a regular Salesforce platform. However, it takes extra importance when it comes to a mobile device. There is a special and unique feature on this version, where the user can easily import from his own mobile device contacts list, and import it to the platform.

Tell me now exactly, just how cool is this? Furthermore, we can click on a phone number from one contact and call that same person, just by clicking on it.

Being at the exact time at the right place has become crucial in meetings with potential clients. It is the first impression that counts, most of the time. Yet again, this marvelous app can certainly help us out on this, taking us under its wings and making sure that we go through the right path in our lives and can meet our clients on time.

We are talking of course about Events and Tasks. Super important on the mobile app, as it has the ability for the user to create these two types of records on the fly, and yet synchronize with his own agenda.

We are now finalizing that restaurant meeting, and our client is very happy with what was proposed (wine helps a lot), and wants to meet and greet us again the following day. The sales rep just creates a new Event, where he can assign it to the client, and can even associate its account and location:

How do I get it?

The world is divided. It is as simple as that. I do not mean divided by the two hemispheres, or poverty and richness, no: it is between Android and iOS.

Two very different operating systems, hence a different way to install this magnificent app. Here is a guide for you to install it both in Android and iOS when it comes to logging in in a Custom Domain:

I will leave it up to you whether to install it or not, but one thing is for sure: this is just a tiny break in the Wall for what is yet to come. The app has already suffered many changes, and it will keep being updated and improved in the foreseeable future. Do not lose track of it now!
