Stellaxius has proven once again to have the X-factor!

n 2019, Stellaxius, the Silver Salesforce partner and the Portuguese reference in Salesforce Consulting, won the 8th best small business to work in Portugal. The award was given by Neves de Almeida | HR Consulting in partnership with Human Resources Portugal and INDEG-ISCTE, within the context of Índice da Excelência 2019.
Prestige places at this HR study are not all brand new to Stellaxius, which last year has also been awarded and recognized for its exceptional working environment!
What is Índice da Excelência?
Índice de Excelência, is a study that measures the organizational climate and human capital development. It was created by Neves de Almeida | HR Consulting in partnership with Human Resources Portugal and INDEG-ISCTE, and in 2019, its fourth edition took place. The main goal: analyze the state of Human Resources in Portugal and acknowledge the businesses which invest more in human capital. Also, each participant is given the chance to share their opinions and views, allowing companies to gather insights and learn more about their strengths and weaknesses and improve their management and investment in human capital.
Índice da Excelência Structure & Criteria:
In terms of structure, Índice de Excelência considers both the size of the companies, splitting- them into three groups: Small, Medium, and Big companies; and, their sector: nine major industries (Health & Pharmacy; Industry; TMT – Technology, Media, and Telecommunications; Consulting & Professional Services; Public Sector; Bank, Insurance, & Financial Services; Construction, Infrastructures, Transport & Logistics; Hospitality, Tourism, Sport & Teaching; and, Retail & Commerce).
When analyzing the above, Índice de Excelência takes into consideration the following: Organisational Dynamics, Processes, Climate, and Human Resources Management.
When evaluating the following four criteria are considered:
- The satisfaction survey
- The engagement
- The participation rate
- The top management survey
Índice da Excelência Results
- The industries that present the lowest levels of employee satisfaction are the public sector and the construction and infrastructure sector, while the ones which present the highest satisfaction levels are financial services, along with consulting & professional services.

- The organizational initiatives that employees most want to see implemented are the rewards (e.g. bonus and benefits) and more investment by their companies in human capital development (education and training). The initiatives that employees value the least are the initiatives that promote the improvement of leadership practices (e.g. leadership skills and team management), followed by initiatives that promote internal communications (e.g. internal information flow, communication speed, and access to information).

- The three most important employee retention factors are the joy and pleasure of doing their job, the work-life balance, and the relationship they maintain with colleagues. Top Management, Training and Benefits have less impact for employees to stay at their companies.

Stellaxius Results:
For the purpose of Índice de Excelência, Stellaxius is considered a small company (11-50 employees), in the TMT – Technology, Media e Telecommunications industry. Small companies represented 36,5% of the sample inquired and the TMT industry accounted for 11% of the global industries. At the end of the day, Stellaxius ranked 8th place in the category of small companies! Take a look at our results in detail:
When compared to the other companies of the small companies’ category, Stellaxius presented results above the average in terms of global excellence. In particular, it has outperformed in terms of Organizational Dynamic, Good Practices, Climate, and HR Management. Such results are of great value for our company since it truly reflects Stellaxius TETRIS culture: teamwork, expertise, trust, responsibility, innovation, and satisfaction.

When analyzing Stellaxius’ Organizational Dynamics compared to the other companies in the small Companies’ category, Stellaxius also greatly outperforms in all aspects: continuous learning, strategic orientation, and customer orientation.

When it comes to Good Practices, Stellaxius is also way ahead when compared to the other smaller businesses. It ranks above average in information & communication, leadership practices, coordination & integration; and development & innovation.

In relation to the company’s Climate, the results suggest that Stellaxius is a company with an organizational climate above the average companies, in all aspects such as: organizational trust, justice; and well-being.

Finally, in terms of HR Management, Stellaxius also outperforms the average of the companies within the Small Companies category, in terms of work resources, competencies development; and talent management.
